They have those "hard to find items" and things that you heard your grandmother talk about, like lye soap and such. It is just a neat experience to shop there. And while you are there, don't forget to look for the artist who paints with coffee; he has been there every time we have been in. He's a treat to watch and visit with. His work is also for sale there! On our last visit, we met and visited with Mr. Kaffie. He is so nice and it was a pleasure to visit with him. Overall, this is a great place to shop and visit! The selection and brands of clothing is good and there are lots of specialty shops all along Front Street and a few on some of the side streets. We recommend going into all of the shops that catch your eye but Cane River Kitchenware is one of our favorites. By the way, they are one of the only shops (and might even be THE ONLY) that is open after 5 PM. They are also open on Sunday. They carry very nice kitchenware items as well as having a nice variety of specialty food items. They have some cooking classes available so be sure to check with them for dates and classes! They sell coffee beans that they can grind for you if you prefer and their selection of different flavors is outstanding. All in all, shopping in Natchitoches is fun! " More >
