"The Cardinal Stage Company puts on 6 or 7 productions annually, at least two of them for children and some of them very inventive productions that make use of every inch of the stage available to them. This year they did a super performance of The Wizard of Oz, flying monkeys and all. Next year Les ..."Miserables is on their program, and I' m sure they do another bang-up job. They take full advantage of the plethora of musical talent in this small city, plus hiring professional Actors Equity members in as well. We saw a great performance of Next to Normal and then the one-man play Under the Lintel, the latter done by a long-time Bloomington amateur actor and Cardinal employee in a superb performance. This is local theater at its best!

"it's been fun to watch this theatre company since its inception nearly ten years ago. The quality of the productions has been consistently among the best in town. Especially strong are the musical productions, which combine local actors (ranging from local kids to nearly professional IU drama stud..."ents) with equity actors from around the U.S. I've seen some very good productions here--last one was Under the Lintel in May. Ticket prices will seem high but are more than fair for the quality of the productions not to mention the goal of paying fair wages for the actors' and musicians' work.

"It was such spiritual place. I love the scrolls, the trees, the prayer flags. It was so not-Indiana. They also host retreatsand I would love to attend sometime. "
