About Us: The Bird Gardens of Naples is a nonprofit organization whose sole concern is parrot welfare in captivity and conservation of wild parrots. We are an outreach and placement program which places into safe custody, parrots which are abandoned, abused, or in need of a home for any reason. Parrots are intelligent, highly social and complex beings with a life span of up to 80 years. The individual bird's best interest and well being of the present flock will determine if a parrot is accepted into the organization. We actively support networking with other parrot welfare groups, animal welfare organizations, the veterinary community, conservation organizations and the general public. Education is of the utmost importance concerning the well being of a parrot and its ability to successfully live with its human companions. What to Expect: The Bird Gardens of Naples is located in Corkscrew Swamp with a variety of flora, fauna, bees and butterflies. Tours last approximately two hours with several miles of walking trails. You will have the opportunity to see, learn, and interact with 200+ birds from origins around the world. If weather allows, groups can enter our large macaw aviary with opportunities to take photos and hold birds. Please wear comfortable shoes and don't forget your sunscreen and bug spray. We do not charge a fee for our tours, but donations are greatly appreciated and go along way to help keep the birds happy and healthy. « less

At the age of 4 we packed up our things and headed south to warmer weather. The majority of my years growing up were spent in sunny Tampa Bay, Florida where I was exposed to many different styles of fishing (offshore, fly fishing, backwater, sight fishing). Fishing these fertile waters, I was taught the importance of conservation and how fragile our water Eco systems are. Several years past and my family and I moved once again to Naples, Florida. What I like to call "fishing heaven". It's here, in southwest Florida, where I started to guide full time. I have been blessed, for over 9 years I've been doing just exactly what I love t o do! Even on the few days I am not guiding clients you can still find me on the water fishing, learning, and searching for new ways to catch the local game fish. I strive to be one of the hardest working guides on the water and to make every trip an adventure. My great sense of humor, patience and easy going attitude will ensure you a great day fishing. Look forward to meeting you " TIGHT LINES " !!! « less

Set in Naples' restored Seaboard Air Line Railway passenger station, the Naples Depot Museum welcomes visitors back to the railroading boom days of the Roaring Twenties and explains how generations of Southwest Floridians used technology and transportation to conquer a vast and seemingly impenetrable frontier.Seminole dugout canoes, a mule wagon, antique swamp buggy, restored rail cars and exciting interactive exhibits tell the story of how trade and travel transformed Naples from a napping village of 300 souls into today's glittering Gulf coast resort. The Naples Depot Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is conveniently located in downtown Naples. « less
