The United States Mint offers free tours to the public Monday - Friday on the hour from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Mint is closed weekends and all Federal Holidays. Reservations are required and can be made on the www.usmint.gov site. Tours are limited to 50 visitors and fill up fast. Group reservations must be made two weeks in advance by calling 303-405-4759 and are subject to availability. Walk-up tour reservations are available at the Mint Tour Reservation Booth on Cherokee St. The booth is open M-F from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for reservations and stand-by tickets. Stand-by tockets are not a guarentee of admittance to the tour and ticket holders will be admitted on a space-available-basis. With the busy Spring/Summer season walk up reservations may not be available and stand-by tickets will be issued until they run out for the day. Security restrictions are high; a list of prohibited items is available on the Mint's website and on the tour reservation tickets. Plese read these guidlines before arriving for the tour. The Mint does not suppy any storage facilities. The gift shop on Cherokee is closed until further notice. A temporary gift store is set up in the Mint and can be acessed by the tour or through the Delaware Street entrance. Visitors wanting to enter on Delaware Street must check in with the Police Officer at the entrance window and will go through a security check before entering the gift store.
