Located just a few steps south of historic Sonoma Town Plaza, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art presents rotating exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The Museum has built an impressive reputation during its first twelve years with shows featuring works by Picasso, Rembrandt, and Goya as well as acclaimed contemporary artists like David Hockney and Sandow Birk. Most exhibitions run 2-3 months. The Museum is also a community gathering place for art history lectures, community events, classes and celebrations. A new reference library features 2,500 art books. A small cafe in the front of the building provides coffee and tea and is a gathering place for Sonoma art lovers. It's a Museum with a big reputation but small enough to be a fun add-on to a visit to Sonoma. Convenient to restaurants on the Town Plaza, an hour enjoying the current exhibition is the perfect arts complement to Sonoma's food and wine offerings.

"My husband and I scheduled a full day tour with Sharon a couple of weeks ago in Sonoma, and we can't recommend her highly enough. We had no knowledge of the area whatsoever and were a bit overwhelmed trying to plan our trip.
We told Sharon this and she immediately offered to help us plan. She as..."ked some questions about what sort of wine we preferred, what types of wineries we'd be interested in visiting (large versus smaller, family owned vineyards, etc.). Once she'd gathered some info from us she put together multiple recommendations that I picked from.
She ended up picking us up a little bit before most of the wineries opened (at our choice), but luckily she used her relationships to get one of the wineries to open a few minutes early for us - we had our own private tasting, which was awesome.
She picked up a wonderful lunch for us that we ate outside, and did such a wonderful job of checking in all day to see how we were feeling, if we wanted to change our plans, visit d...

"I was looking for a funky art scene and found it (and more!) at Cornerstone Gardens. With stores/galleries (all with A/C) and beautiful, inspiring art installations, we gladly spent most of an afternoon here. I can see why people have big event there, too. Well done. Thanks!"
"I recently had the chance to enjoy the Wine Trolley. We were picked up in the Sonoma Square by the trolley. We received a brief history of the area as we were taken to our first winery. We were able to spend about 45 minutes at each of the 2 wineries we visited and then went on to take a tour of ..."a beautiful vineyard. When we arrived at the vineyard, the vineyard owner boarded the trolley and gave us a history of the property and there wine. While we waited for our lunch we were able to taste the wine from the vineyard and explanation of the wine. Lunch was made right there on the trolley and served in the vineyard. It was wonderful! This was an experience I won't soon forget and am planning another tour in the coming months.
