Shiraz Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Shiraz
"Despite our friends " Iran ?Are you crazy ?! " comments, we were greeted by a country with warm and friendly people and plenty of historical sites.
We visited Teheran, Shiraz, Esfahan, Qom and Yadz finding ancient ruins, stunning mosques, cities with old Barjeels (tradicional wind towers b..."uilt to lower the temperature of the house) .
Due to many reasons its better to hire the services of a travel agency to get a visa and organise the trip. There are many good ones and I can recommend the one I used, key2persia. Its staff proved extremely useful and patiently answered my so many questions before departing. The tourist guides we got were all very well prepared, specially Miss Nadia and Mr. Soheil.
Do go to Iran.

"Iran is full of mosques and in Shiraz you can find many but Nasir Molk Mosque is unique becuz of its features.
The entrances looks like a small hall leading to the rectablular yard. the knockers at door gives the impression of house rather than a mosque.
The colorful glasses reminds you of a church..." as well as picture on tiles depicting small mosque with crosses on top!
The water system and the protection against earthquake make it a unique instance of it kind.

"I have visited the place a couple of times but it is still a reminder of glorious Persian history. Both foreigners and locals like to viist the place despite the distance and all destruction.
What makes the place extraordinary is the existence of the Tomb of Cyrus the great. The most respected Persi..."an Emperor both in national and international view. The tomb consists of a small room with sliding room on top of some stairs, all made of white stone. Looks like a small zigorat but very impressive.
Other amazing figure found in Pasargade is the carved statue of winged man known Cyrus the great.
Although in bad condition, still impressive.
The writing in cuneiform expressing the words of the king are very interesting.
The rest are mostly the ruin of Cambyses tomb, column of some palaces. If you expect something huge as a world heritage, that is not for you. If you cherish the Academicians and the Cyrus the Great, it is a must see.
