We provide half-day birdwatching walks that take place in the lush jungle directly below Machu Picchu within walking distance of Aguas Calientes. The tour is designed both for avid birders and casual travelers who would like to experience the surprising quantity of bird life in the valley in a short enough time frame to easily make one’s afternoon train to Cusco.This a great opportunity to see colorful neotropical birds like the legendary Andean Cock-of-the-rock, the Highland Motmot, over a dozen beautiful varieties tanagers, and many other species. We have binoculars available for those who need them and rain gear (just in case).
