We provide half-day birdwatching walks that take place in the lush jungle directly below Machu Picchu within walking distance of Aguas Calientes. The tour is designed both for avid birders and casual travelers who would like to experience the surprising quantity of bird life in the valley in a short enough time frame to easily make one’s afternoon train to Cusco. This a great opportunity to see colorful neotropical birds like the legendary Andean Cock-of-the-rock, the Highland Motmot, over a dozen beautiful varieties tanagers, and many other species. We have binoculars available for those who need them and rain gear (just in case).

"By visiting the Museo de Sitio, I was able to gain more knowledge about the area surrounding Machu Picchu. Go at your own pace to see and read how the Incas lived. See the tools, and other artifacts originally used by such inspirational people. "
"We almost didn't go, put off by the tales of thousands of visitors every day. But we left Aguas Calientes before dawn on foot, ignoring the queues waiting for the buses to start. The walk up was beautiful, only took 1 hour 40 minutes and we had our 11-year-old daughter with us. We experienced daw..."n at the top, and enjoyed the Sun Gate and the town ruins before the hordes arrived....and its one of those places that you can see 100 times in photos, but the real thing still takes your breath away.

"we arrived in mandor by suggestion of someone. this place is not only made by the waterfall, but is actually a beautiful insight of the surrounding nature. We saw many colorful birds there, and took many beautiful pictures of the vegetation. The waterfall by itself is not so big is true, but I don't..." think you should go there only for it. The family who holds the place is really nice, you can eat good pancakes and fresh fruits at their place. Finally, since they have some accommodation, this is your best plan to avoid aguas calientes ;)
