"We have visited many large and famous aquariums around the world, and this one is certainly one of the nicest. In the Osaka aquarium displays are built in such a way that visitors can see life above and under water around the world. There are some incredibly rare and interesting animals and sea cr..."eatures, and the deep fish tank is fascinating. We went in the afternoon hours, which are probably less crowded. Highly recommended, even if you go without your children.

"Visiting Osaka Castle was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The castle is situated within a large park, which contains many gardens, moats and rock walls. You enter the Castle grounds from quite a distance away. As we were walking along we were wondering where the Castle was, then you fi..."nally catch a glimpse of this magnificent, imposing structure set up high on a hill. It really dominates the landscape. Since its initial construction in the late 1500’s it has gone through many transformations after having been completely destroyed by wars and fire. The castle you see today was actually built in 1931 and miraculously managed to survive the WW II bombings.
You need to allow a good full day to visit the Castle, especially if you are traveling from another city like Kobe. There is a JR train station right nearby, (I believe it is the Kyobashi Station) and from there it is a short 5 minute walk to the Castle grounds. I highly recommend a visit to the Nishinomaru Gardens,...

It’s close to one of the main railway stops and from there it’s a short 10-minute walk to the aquarium. Y..."ou won’t miss it, as it’s impressive and striking architecture jumps out at you as you approach it from a distance. The price of entry is a bit on the steep side, but well worth every Yen.
I’ve seen some of the less than five (5) reviews posted and I can’t understand how anyone who visits this place isn’t simply blown away. I’m not a rookie when it comes to aquarium visits either, having seen Monterey Bay, Okinawa and the Georgia Aquariums. However, I would rate the Osaka Aquarium right up there with the best and biggest.
What I liked about the aquarium was how you travel through it, from the top down. At the top you catch glimpses of some of the larger tanks that house the whale sh...
