"It offers you great view of the white shoreline and mountains. I was only disappointed I wasn't able to witness the water coming out from the blowholes. Locals there said that it is best to visit Salalah during their winter season when you can see green mountains and festivals. Don't miss to visit M..."arneef cave.

"We were on a ship's tour recently in Salalah, and our guide was Ali Suhail. His English was excellent, but what we most liked was his knowledge of the area, and his enthusiasm for showing us his country. Ali works on a free lance basis, and I can highly recommend him for a private excursion. He c..."an be reached at: 0096895504705 (his mobile phone number) or ali.almahri4@hotmail.com If we return to this area, we would make it a point to spend more time with him. If you want an inside look at Salalah, spend some time with this excellent guide

"Often wrongly named, this is the Land of Frankincense museum located in the archaeological park for the ancient port of Al-Baleed. The museum was opened in 2001 so it is fairly new but do not expect a lot of interactives. The museum itself is divided into 2 sections, Maritime and History, both are c..."omprehensive enough for the casual visitor but not really deep enough in text and commentary for the more serious visitor.
The museum is one of the stand-out attractions in Salalah and should be top of the list to visit first. It gives context to any of the other attractions and sites you'll visit.
It cost 2 RO to get it but since this include the excellent Al-Baleed archeological site it is pretty good value, though photography is not allowed within the museum.
