Rawai Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Rawai
"This year we did the Phi Phi Sunrise trip. Having previously been on the daytime Phi Phi in past years with Simba!
We were picked up from our hotel at the ungodly(because I'm on holidays, and no-one should have to get up that early) hour of 5:30am, and driven to Royal Phuket Marina, where we were g..."reeted by Jenny & the Simba crew, plus the other guests.
By 6:00am we were speeding our way across the ocean to Maya Bay.(made famous by the movie "The Beach"). The sunrise on the Horizon was breathtaking. Lots of pics were taken!
We enjoyed a home cooked breakfast at Maya Bay, which was absolutely divine, especially as we were the only people there due to the early start.
We them spent some time in a little lagoon off Maya Bay, for free swim, jumping off the boat etc.
Next we went past Viking Cave, then layer anchor for some snorkelling on the coral reefs. Lots of bright fish, including "Nemos" to be seen. After this we moved on to Phi Phi Island and had a walk around the markets, and a...

"Rawai Beach on Phuket holds the distinction of being the very first tourist beach on Phuket. Years ago, people from Phuket Town would drive the 17km to Rawai on weekends to while away the afternoon underneath the beach's casuarina trees rather than risk the (then) dangerous drive over the hill to Ph..."uket's west coast.
Nowadays Rawai is a 'working beach' and a launching point for day boat excursions out to Phuket's surrounding islands. Many longtail boats available for hire line its shores, where you can arrange a trip to Coral Island, Koh Lone or Racha Island,or a fishing or snorkel trip. The beach is also used as a mooring point for the many fishermen who live in the area.
Rawai is home to the five-star resorts, Serenity Resort and Mangosteen and quite a few of Phuket's foreign expat population live in the area, lending a bohemian and laid-back flavour to the way of life there. Favourite nighttime haunts are Friendship Beach, towards Chalong, and Rawai's beachfront bars.

"After reading a lot of good reviews on TA we decided to book a tour at Simba Sea trips.
There are a lot of boat agencies and also at the hotel they have got plenty brochures of tour companies but we wanted to have a nice boattrip for sure so we chose for Jenny and her crew.
We did the Phi Phi S..."unrise trip two weeks ago and it was fabulous!
The price is quite expensive but it is worth every bath!
There were only 10 guests on the boat so you have enough room to sit or walk to the front of the boat.
Lots of drinks and snacks and delicous breakfast and lunch.
At 5.20 am they picked us up at the hotel and the reward is that every gorgeous place we visited, was not crowded with other boats and tourists.
Jenny is a funny and very friendly guide and also her crew is very nice and helpful.
I would really recommend this tour, I would describe it as a sort of business class boat ticket
(I saw like 20-30 tourists on the other boats)
You really get what you pay for!
