  "We went up here to play mini golf in early May, but it was like the Temple of Doom - deserted. No signs to say it was closed - we could walk all the way through. Had to rate it average, but it looks like a lot of fun!"

  "We actually went to both the Police boat and the nearby International Tsunami Museum which is in a shop nearby. The "museum" costs 100bt entrance and has three rooms upstairs showing grainy videos on tv screens which graphically depict the Khao Lak devastation of the Boxing Day 2004 Tsunami. The l..."azy bloke on the front counter just sat there smoking and throwing his rubbish into the carpark instead of picking it up! Visitors had left empty drinks bottles around inside for days it appeared, and the place was filthy. We stayed about 45 mins and found the videos informative and disturbing. Along the road there is a lot of construction going on at the site of the Police Boat. It looks like it will be a very impressive memorial park to the thousands of people lost in this area. The big sign is two years out of date commemorating Seven years since the tsunami. The Khao Lak area has numerous Tsunami Evacuation Route signs everywhere which are now barely readable as they have faded. We felt... " More >
