This is the first purpose built information and research centre in Sri Lanka, and aims to educate and create awareness of these magnificent creatures. At present, 28 species of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) have been recorded in Sri Lankan waters and sightings from Mirissa alone include Brydes Whale, Blue Whale, Pilot Whale, Orca, different types of Dolphins, however very little is still understood about their behavior or why they are seen in these waters.

"In Sri Lanka, I was hoping to pick up one of the famous Ceylon blue sapphires, but many of the shops we visited were significantly overpriced and I began to despair of finding something beautiful yet fairly priced. Mr. Lahir and his shop came to the rescue!
With Mr. Lahir's guidance, I was able ..."to customize a blue sapphire ring at a very fair price. The next day, the kindly gentleman delivered the ring even better than I had imagined! I would definitely recommend Lihiniya for fair dealings, beautiful jewelry and great service.
Thank you tripadvisor! I would never have found Lihiniya without this site!

"We enjoyed walking through the Galle Fort and exploring the various shops tucked here and there. There is a lot of interesting architecture to photograph and admire."
"Some one who is holidaying in Galle or close to Galle the best option is to visit Sinharaja Rain forest is from Deniyaya. Its about one and a half hour drive (50)km to Deniyaya and you turn off right infront of Deniyaya Police station to left and travel about 9 Km to Mederipitiya from Mederipitiya to..."wn have to travel about 7 Km to the forest entrance. One who can reach the entrance in the morning can do the walk in to the forest (Guided Tour with a lisenced Guide will cost around 600 Rupees Per Person) and come accross about 5 beautifull water falls easily in addition to the 40/50 M high trees, birds, lizards butterflies and snakes. Its a nice way to complete the day by having a dip in one of those cristal clear water falls and feel that you are part of that beautifull world out there.
