"I first visited Caeserea over 45 years ago, and the changes that have been made to the site in terms of what can be seen are amazing. The excavations are fascinating and the way in which the history of the site is explained in the story boards keeps you enthralled from start to finish.
The beau..."ty of the site is reflected in its setting by the Mediterranean and, on a hot sunny day, it was enchanting.
The restaurants and cafes were a welcome addition, and we had a delicious lunch next to the small harbour, soaking up the atmosphere.

"Fascinating ruins of one of Herod's great sea towns. The well preserved ruins were recently discovered and expended the area visible to tourists. Amazing Hippodrome, colorful floors in the baths, just history galore! All is very well presented, good restaurants available in the park as well, which i..."s right on the Mediterranean sea. Don't miss it if you are in Israel.

"We spent several hours here, exploring the ruins and taking in the visual accompaniment to what we read in the bible. The theatre is but just one part of the park, as there is the Promontory Palace of Herod the great, the "Pilate Stone" (or at least a replica of it in situ) and several pillars with ..."inscriptions on them. What we can see is only a fraction of what has yet to be uncovered.
The view of the palace and its swimming pool along with the recently uncovered mosaics is outstanding. The Theatre is amazing, but apparently, only a fraction of the size it was in the first century.
