The House of Danar Hadi proudly unveils an Integrated Culture Heritage Complex that is destined to become a tourist attraction for the city of Surakarta. It has been founded to preserve and advance the art of batik in Indonesia as part of the national cultural legancy. This integrated tourism center will enhance the attractions to be found in the Central Javanese city, with visitors able to enjoy once again the heritage building nDalem Wuryoningratan, build in the late 19th century and painstakingly restored to its original grandeur by House of Danar Hadi. The Complex will be an arena to witness the development of batik in Indonesia, the process of creating this precious textile and its emergence as part of the contemporary lifestyle. This homage to the history and glory of batik will be found at the nDalem Wuryoningratan, Danar Hadi Antique Batik Museum, Danar Hadi Traditional Batik Showroom and Souvenir and Lounge.

"clean, great collection, free, educative. the guide is insightful. location beside nice little restaurant and behind good batik boutique. if you want to know abaout the history of batik in indonesia, you should come to this museum. no regrets

"If you leave aside the poor road conditions, which are common to the whole of Java, and are ready to spend a couple of hours driving up to Sukuh, the remote, eery, weird-looking temples are really worth the trip. They look like Maya temples with late-hindu sculptures, set in a beautiful garden.
..."You can visit it quickly but it is worth taking your time. With the nice atmosphere around I ended up spending almost 2 hours there.

"I really enjoyed this museum, as I had heard about the famous 'Java Man' skulls found in the area. The museum is well laid out and there are a few English translations in the museum. However, because only a few of the displays are in English I felt I missed out on quite a lot. However if you have a ..."few days in Solo, I would highly recommend a visit.
