"This is truly one of New Mexico's greatest places to visit. This Memorial has an enormous anount of information on the Military prescence during the Vietnam War and also includes the Westphal Foundation which sponsors retreats for Vets and their Families. Cannot say enough good things about it."
"The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is humbling, beautiful, and breathtaking whether you have served in the military or not. It sits above Angel Fire Ski Resort and if you don't drive north from the resort, you will miss it. It offers visitors a museum and chapel in a tranquil setting (of course, snowy i..."n winter, but cleared by the park service). We drove the Enchantend Circle from Taos north through Red River, passed a llama farm and soon saw it (this is driving south toward Angel Fire). It is quiet, with trails to walk and places to sit and reflect atop a mountain/hill with Angel Fire nearby. The memorial has collected data from servicemen and women from other wars, not limited to Vietnam any longer. It is a moving tribute built by a father for his son, who lost his life in his first year of service in Vietnam. A helicopter has been added that will attract kids. It's a beautiful experience that you won't forget. Indoor/Outdoor sites.

"My husband skis. I don't. If this sounds like you and your spouse then you'll love this place. Our room was wonderful - very large, comfortable furniture, fireplace - the whole nine yards. My husband enjoyed his time on the mountain, even though there wasn't much snow when we went. What I loved..." was that Taos was just down the hill. I'd drive in every day and sightsee while he skied. While we were there, we ate at their swanky restaurant Stonewood, which is over at the Golf Club and Country Club. It was a slow night and the service was even slower. They asked us if we wanted to sit next to the piano or the fire. Hubby chose the piano, but that was a mistake. We were there way too long to be that close to the piano. Sit by the fire if you go. And about the room, I did love it, but we were by the pool. Once or twice in our week long stay it got a little noisy. I'm sure there are better rooms.
