Upon arrival to the park we will hike for approximately 40 to 45 minutes to Puerto Escondido and Puerto Caribe. We will have gone across the narrow peninsula of this fabulous natural refuge, where visitors frequently encounter howling monkeys and white-faced monkeys among many of the diverse fauna which inhabit this splendid natural environment. With an approximate area of 782 km2Jeannette Kawas National Park, (Punta Sal) is one of the few national parks in Honduras, whose boundaries extend several kilometers beneath the ocean thus protecting coral reefs located close to the coast. There is the opportunity to do some snorkeling, or simply to enjoy one of the most beautiful Caribbean beaches. We will have a delicious typical garifuna meal for lunch at the Cocalito beach. « less
