It is the car-free area of Muslim Mostar where the Turkish shops are located. In this part of town you can find many artisans selling their traditional handicrafts from little shops by the side of the street: there are several interesting copper items and beautiful carpets, as well as clothes, scarves, jewelry, pipes and nargilehs. It's also the oldest - and luckily most intact - part of town.

"I don't usually write reviews about places, but I was amazed by Mostar - one of the most scenic towns I have ever been to. Fantastic little market town with bars and restaurants over looking an incredible bridge. Unfortunately, we were a little rushed for time but having seen the place - could have ..."spent at least 2-3 days in the area.
You will have no regrets in visiting this place!

"Ten or fifteen kilometres south of Mostar there's a village called Blagaj, which has an ancient and very beautiful tekke. (A tekke is a dervish meeting house; dervishes follow the mystical, sufi tradition in Islam.) Non-believers will appreciate the tekke too, for its peace and beauty.
Blagaj is also remarkable for its natural beauty - the pure river down below, where I believe you can hire a canoe, and trees and crags and the ruins of an ancient castle perched up above - I believe the whole site is listed by UNESCO.
People with mobility problems should be aware that visitors to the tekke have to walk two hundred yards or so along a good, level path from the car-park, and there are a few stairs inside to reach the upstairs r...

"Zitomislic, some ten or twelve kilometres south of Mostar, is a well-known beauty spot and a place where people from town come for a rest.
The monastery (orthodox) was very badly damaged and has been restored, but it doesn't show. The interior is wonderfully cool and peaceful, but one feels the ..."special spirit of the place best from the green lawns outside.
Zitomislic is near Blagaj, and on the road back to Mostar from Pocitelj. I saw all of them on a round trip lasting, I think. about four or five hours, including time exploring Pocitelj, etc.
