Windhoek, Namibia’s capital city, is described as a city with a ‘continental’ atmosphere and this can be ascribed to its architecture – historical buildings dating back to German colonial rule. Windhoek was initially known as Ai-gams a Nama word meaning ‘firewater’, ‘steam’ or ‘smoke’ because of the area’s plentiful hot springs.

"Fantastic place ...Wonderful sunset view...beautiful landscape..Food is not the best but edible...Good place tosee some animals without having to travel far from Windhoek"
"We did the 10 day Windhoek to Victoria falls trip, highlights were staying with San Bushman in Namibia and Botswana. Two nights on the Okavango delta, in Botswana, one night on the Caprivi strip, 2 nights in Chobe and 2 nights in Livingston for the Victoria falls. During the 10 days we saw four of t..."he big five. There were 8 of us on the trip so plenty of room to spread out on the truck. Our guide George did a fantastic job with the cooking and assisting with the tents. During the last 10 years we have travelled to 65 different countries, this trip with Wild Dog was one of the highlights.

"Day One of my holiday and I started with an early morning ride. After 15 years out of the saddle Sam chose the perfect horse for me and we had a fantastic ride out in the hills with wonderful scenery and spotting wildlife as we went. Two weeks later at the end of my trip I finished the holiday wit..."h a Sundowner and Brai. It was a different route this time but the scenery was equally wonderful and we finished under the trees with drinks and a fantastic brai by candlelight. It was the perfect start and finish to the holiday and I would recommend it to everyone whether or not they have ridden before.
