There may or may be a cafe and the bookshop was visible but closed. And it seems very poorly signposted on the approach by the way our cab went. (Also perhaps worth noting that in our small sample of five cab rides in Tunis one was honest and helpful and we were pretty much robbed by the other four. They all claimed to speak no French.) But all that aside if you don't get to this then there was probably no reason to come to Tunis at all.
