The Pacific Pinball Museum is a 501 c 3 non profit dedicated to teaching science, art and history through pinball and to display and preserve this great American treasure. It is also a hands on interactive experience of fun! Over 85 games to play from the earliest pinball machines to the latest. One admission lets you play all day to your hearts content, without fumbling for quarters. It is family friendly and educational with shows on the art of pinball, exhibits on pinball science and our permanent historical display of pinball evolution. People from the world over have given us rave reviews and love our unique presentation of this classic game. Our large format murals of hand painted backglass art are admired and coveted by artists and pinheads alike and the chance to play a completely transparent pinball machine is icing on the cake.

"My boyfriend and I love taking tours so we knew we couldn't pass up a craft distillery. We took the ferry from SF not knowing what was ahead of us. Upon disembarking our ferry, we set off on about a 1.5 mile walk to the distillery. The walk takes you along the port and a small neighborhood. Next it ..."takes you through a deserted air force base (hence Hangar One) It so happened that the time between the ferry available and our tour time left us hungry while waiting. And beware, there is very little sign of life over there. However, there were great views of the city from across the bay and we had a great tour guide, M, who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. This ended up being one of our favorite attractions but we were unaware of what we were getting ourselves into

"First-class restoration of a 1932 movie palace with additional multiplex. The same architect, Timothy Pfluger, designed San Francisco's Castro Theater and Oakland's Paramount. It is a testament to his genius that all three have been preserved. Even if you don't choose a film on the main screen, ask ..."the usher (yes they have real ushers straight out of central casting--not skittish, sullen teens) when you can peek inside Screen One. Gorgeous architectural details throughout. Good snack bar selections including fresh brewed ice tea and a good value kid's pack.

"We visited on Father's Day and the Nature Center at nearby Crab Cove is great for learning about the Bay. They also have a nice selection of low-cost trinkets for the kids. The naturalists go out of their way to explain things, suggest activities, and answer questions. The water is shallow and, if y..."ou go at low tide you can walk out quite far before getting too wet. Your feet do get muddy but there are handy mud scrapers for your feet by the entrance to the Visitor's Center. Nice picnic tables available too. Call in advance to reserve a section for a large group. Kite board rentals nearby and plenty of parking. Ideal age to visit 7 to 12 for kids.
