"In May we visited the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist in Torun, Poland. It is one of the oldest churches in the area and it possesses a wealth of art objects. One of the largest churches in Poland, it took 200 years to be completed, from the 13th to 15th centuries. T..."he noted polymath Nicolaus Copernicus was baptized in this church. When in Torun, a visit to this impressive house of worship is a must. The management of this architectural wonder has restrictive visiting hours, and we had to pay a small fee to enter and another fee to take photographs of the interior, but it is well worth it. Photographers will love this place.

"It's not often one can take a photograph of a statue of Nicolaus Copernicus in his hometown, so when in Torun it's the thing to do. The statue is located in the Old Town square next to the Old Town City Hall. During the time I was there it was a popular subject for photographs. People informally ..."lined up to get their pictures taken with the statue of the great polymath. We did!
While this particular attraction does not have "food available for purchase," within a matter of a few steps there are a number of restaurants, shops, and beer gardens.
