"A great place to learn about the Australian political system and its history, in an meaningful and engaging way.
Recommend going on one of the free tours run by the expert volunteers - so many interesting and entertaining stories that each trip is a different!
Also check out the 'best of' th..."e political cartoons from the previous year every January/February!

"This is different to an art gallery in that the captions are a bio of the subject, rather than the techniques used by the artist, or the artist themselves. I liked that.
Gallery rooms had a good flow, and told a story with different rooms for different time periods.
We visited the special exhibit..."s: portrait awards 2013 exhibit and the Australian women exhibit.
Gift shop was good. And free car parking for visitors, just validate your ticket, which means other people don't park there and take up spots! Great!
Would be nice if there was a catalogue of all the portraits, even those not displayed.
My husband bought a Cadel Evans poster but we are not sure if the original was on display.

"Really cute place to take the kids as the miniature models are excellent. Our kids loved looking at all the buildings from around the world.
The grounds themselves are kept very pristine, but the actual models and figurines could really use some updating. They look like they have not been up kept..." for some time, and it really takes away from the overall display.
It was a fun place to visit, but I would say slightly on the expensive side given how small it is.
The train ride was also a little disappointing. The kids enjoyed it, but it only goes around twice and lasts about 3 minutes.
