"We stayed just a few doors down the street from El Meco, so it was an easy was for a morning stroll. Very peaceful, with no crowds to contend with. You can't climb the ruins, but that was okay. A great place to spend a couple of hours."

So it was a very pleasant experience to visit some ruins and the only tourist you seen were the Iguana's.
The El Meco ruins are completely different and much smaller, so we found that we spent as much time there as we had at Chichen Itza taking photos and just enjoying the quiet. The pyramid there is much smaller but the renovations have allowed a much more natural setting. There are trees and roots growing over a lot of the ruins, which I think adds to their interest.
