The Ewe is a home - open to the public, entirely created & run by a couple. Irelands only interactive sculpture garden is a must see for anyone interested in art, nature or a totally unique experience - the perfect destination for a relaxing, memorable day out. Set along a spectacular waterfall in the natural Eden of Glengarriff, it offers visitors a chance to step off the treadmill, slow down and rediscover our beautiful but vulnerable natural world. It is a journey like no other. Explore the meandering pathways and hidden corners, where curious creatures gaze back as you pass. Take the Evolution Walk through the Valley of Eden, weave your way over bridges, past humorous sculptures and discover a surprise at every turn. The creative haven of about six acres has been designed in four very different tiers up a mountainside - each with a theme: Water, Time, The Environment and Ancient Earth. Children welcome - please supervise for the safety & peaceful enjoyment of all.

"We spent a 2 night break in Bantry, and my son noticed this attraction on the leaflet library, so we decided to drop in. I asked myself, "what do I want to see female sheep for", and wasn't really excited about it. Before we got to it we took a dramatic drive up to Barley Lake and admired the views...." Next we called in to the Ewe Experience, and to tell you the truth, it was a wonderful magical walk around a beautiful garden that combines art and recycling. If modern art is your thing, visit here, if its not, then, visit here. Pigs in baths, fish cycling up waterfalls on bikes, and sunbathing rhinos. Lookk everywhere, and there is something to surprise you. Its a trail and each exhibit is numbered, and explained. Its great with or without kids, and will not be overly crowded. What I liked about it was that it shows you that everything need not be chucked into a bin, and if you have "fidgety digits" like the creator, you can create some really stand out features for your garden.

"We were finishing the Ring of Beara and saw a sign for "Seal Island" and a ferry. We stopped at the Blue Pool Ferry. The man at the booth was cheery and teasing, and we liked him right away. We bought our tickets, walked down to the ferry landing and entered paradise. The ferry dock is in a quiet po..."ol of water off Glengarriff Harbour and is so serene and lovely, we almost didn't need to take the ferry to the island. But the ferry came, a quaint walk-on type ferry, automobile left behind. We past seals sunning on rocks, got close enough for photos, and in about ten minutes were at the ferry dock at Garinish Island. The gardens on the islands are absolutely exquisite. We saw several gardens while we were in Ireland and this one is by-far the best and most beautiful. We spent over an island just gawking at all the blooming plants. There is a nice tea room at the end of the trek through the gardens, good restrooms nearby. It was on the whole just a delightful experience, one of our best on...
