"Like it...! Comparatively easy having climbed Mortirolo first. Some spectacular views and stunningly fast descents, even in the snow. The sight of wild Marmottes running free towards the top was fantastic too."
"What a fantastic drive. Not for the fainthearted. As we started to climb the pass we realised that we were heading to the snow line and it was getting misty. We continued on regardless. We had to wait near the top to wait for the snow plough to clear the road. We visited the facilities at the summit..." and then set off for our return journey. We then came across the snow plough again, then there was an avalanche which totally blocked the road in two places. We waited but the snow kept falling down the mountainside. We had to a multiple "three point" turn to retrace our journey back to the summit. After consulting our Sat Nav and Maps we decided to travel down the far side of the mountain which meant a 130 mile detour.

"Cycles up this as part of the Gran Fondo Stelvio - with solid snow all around for the last 5kms, and 10ft walls of snow beside the road - as i say 'Epic' (not lightly used)!!"
