Covered in vines and bordered with rivers, along woody slopes and picturesque roads, the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion stretches out over 75 km² around a particularly well-preserved medieval town and is the ideal place to stay. Only 30 minutes from Bordeaux and 1h from Bergerac or Périgueux, Saint-Emilion is the perfect starting point to tour around the vineyards of Bordeaux and the Perigord district. Legend has it that the town bears the name of a Breton monk that performed miracles while living an exemplary life. In order to retire from social life, he settled in 750 in a natural grotto, which can still be visited nowadays in the heart of the town! « less

The two fortresses of Roquetaillade are a masterpiece in Aquitaine, South West France and the site is one of the most popular in the region (30 minutes from Bordeaux, in the borders of the Graves and Sauternes region). The castle has been lived in by the same family for over 700 years and is fully furnished. It was opened officially to the public in 1956. Behind the medieval walls, visitors will discover splendid and unique decorations created by Viollet le Duc, XIX century architect (Notre Dame, Carcassonne, Pierrefonds). All year round, there are visits every weekend at 3 and 4 pm and 'de Pacques a la Toussaint' the two castles are open every day. Groups are welcome by appointment. « less
