"We all boarded at Bishops Lydeard for a return trip to Minehead, the staff were engaging with us all....especially the two young us. There are lots of lovely stops on-route to Minehead for country walks or a bite to eat. After advice from the train conductor we decided to disembark at Blue Anchor ..."for lunch rather than Minehead. There is a great little café 2 minutes walk from the train station serving good quality food with lovely views over the beach, it can get really busy, so beware.
Once back at Bishops Lydeard the train conductor allowed the two young us to carry the train light from the rear of the train to the front, it made them feel very special and brought a huge smile to their faces.
It was really refreshing to meet such enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff....well done West Somerset Railway for having such great staff/volunteers. A great place to visit with the family or as a couple.

"We recently visited the railway, as part of my Dad's Birthday celebrations. We had a wonderful day out- the trains and Stations were beautifully restored (it was like stepping back in time) and we loved the places they took us to.
All of the staff were so friendly and helpful- with special thank..."s to Ron, the Station Master at Dunster, who told us so many interesting facts. Great value for money and just a lovely day out.

"Best (& possibly longest) private railway in the UK. Lots of places to visit along the line, particularly the quaint Watchet - an ancient port. Pretty stations."
