Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use. « less

Many brave and selfless RNLI volunteers are remembered proudly in their local communities. However, the RNLI memorial sculpture in Poole is the only place where each and every one of them is named together. The RNLI hopes that future generations of lifeboat crew, lifeguards, supporters and fundraisers will find it a source of inspiration. Ultimately, the memorial reminds us all that there are still people who volunteer to carry out selfless acts of heroism to help others - we will always remember their sacrifice. « less

There’s something for everyone – from big kids to little ones – with some of the UK’s most exciting waterflumes. For the thrill-seekers, brave the Screamer with its sheer vertical drop. Plunge into darkness on the Black Thunder. And hold on to your pants as you shoot down the Spacebowl like a human pinball. Or if that sounds a bit like hard work, just go with the flow on the Mississippi Drifter. There’s the fabulous Little Buccaneers SplashZone with a starter flume, water play area and Buccaneer Bay, our toddler swimming pool. And, on a hot summer’s day, Buccaneer Beach is the perfect spot for a splash with the little ones. There’s even somewhere to play for little landlubbers. We’re open all year with indoor rides in the winter. In the spring, we take the slide outside where the Mississippi pours into the Grand Canyon. And, in May, bring on the awesome Screamer Tower – it’s fluming good fun! What are you waiting for? « less
