With the Bungy cord securely fastened to your harness, you step out onto the exit ramp positioned 115 metres above the fjord. It is impossible to catch your breath once you cast yourself off and the mountain walls of the narrow gorge race up towards you. The Kick can scarcely be described; this is Eupope's wildest Bungee Jump! (Parental permission required if under 16 years of age). Price from NOK 790,- In 2012 we opened Europe's highest Zip-line; participants hang from a pulley positioned on a wire rope suspended over the gorge that whizzes across at up to 40 km/hour. It is an incredible rush that is felt prior to "landing" on an outward-facing mountain ledge that towers above Akrafjorden. Price from NOK 290,- Drop-in for individuals on scheduled days. On request for groups in extended season May 14th - Sept. 25th « less

Parts of the tower are from the 1270s, but it has been extended on several occasions for the purpose of fortification and as a demonstration of power to the independent-minded Hanseatic traders. If you climb up the narrow and dark flights of stairs you can climb right up on to the roof, which still provides impressive views. The tower was built in the 1560s by the governor of Bergen Castle (Bergenhus), Erik Rosenkrantz, and served as a combined residence and fortifi ed tower. Earlier structures – King Magnus the Lawmender’s keep from about 1260 and Jorgen Hansson’s defence from about 1520, were incorporated in the tower. 1.6.-31.8.: Café. « less
