At the end of a run, you can catch the metro back up to Frognerseteren for another run. Korktrekkeren is 2000 metres long, and the elevation drop is 255 metres. One non-stop ride at full speed takes 8-10 minutes. The metro from Midtstuen to Frognerseteren takes 13 minutes. Sled rentals Sleds for rent (Akeforeningen) next to Frognerseteren Restaurant, at the bottom of the hill from the Frognerseteren subway stop. Helmet rental is free. « less

Grefsenkleiva has the longer slopes for experienced skiers and snowboarders. The longest i 900 metres long. Here you also find a big jump, rails, and several small jumps. There are two cafés where you can warm yourself up or buy something to eat or drink. Outdoor toilets. Trollvannskleiva is very well suited for children and beginners. The slope slants easily downhill, and the plate lift is easy to use. There is also a ski and snowboard school, equipment rental, sledging hill etc. « less

The Valhall curve is probably the best vantage point in the city. It is also known as the place where Edvard Munch was inspired to paint his world-famous painting Scream. You will recognise the painting's landscape contours as you enjoy the view from Valhallveien. Recommended route (from Gamlebyen): from Oslo gate via Dyvekes vei, Konowsgt to Valhallveien, stop in the last tight curve below Ekeberg Camping. « less

From there 1 km east to Rustadsaga sportstue. Distance: 11 km Incline: 125 hm Roadway: gravel The Round Noklevann Lake route is one of the most popular in ostmarka, and it's easy to see why. The road is slightly rolling and varied and affords fine views across the lake. Fine bathing areas are found in places like Katissa and Braten. Barely one kilometre north of here is Bremsrud rest area, with a view of many of Noklevann's rock faces. Please note that many hikers frequent this area at the weekend, so please show consideration! If you prefer to cycle more or less undisturbed, you should plan your ride in the early morning or late afternoon instead. « less

Between Ringveien and the heavily trafficked highway 168, you will find a dense, wonderful 'enchanted' forest situated in a little-known river valley. Maerradalen is a splendid nature experience all summer long and a fine bicycle ride. Leave Ringveien one and a half kilometres west of Smestad Station and cycle uphill towards Husby along Maerradalsbekke stream. To lengthen the ride a bit, head for the natural destination of Bogstad Farm, which you will reach after cycling under Highway 168, through the Hovseter fields and past Bogstad Camping. The road surface of the last kilometre before Bogstad Camping is slightly rough, but fully 'cyclable' for those on a mountain bike. « less
