Home to Skyros Holidays on picturesque Skyros island, Greece, The Skyros Centre offers specialised courses including the renowned Writers' Lab, the Life Choices programme and, new this year, the Art Studio. Alongside these courses guests are offered options for early morning yoga and health and beauty treatments. Skyros holidays have been described as 'the first and still the best' alternative holiday by The Guardian. The Sunday Times described it as 'One of the world's best holidays'. The Writers' Lab, in particular, has received acclaim as 'No. 1 of the World's Five Best Writing Holidays' by The Guardian. The holidays tend to attract solo travellers and single supplements are avoided as most guests take the option to share twin accommodation with others of the same gender and similar age. A huge majority - over 80 percent - report that the Skyros experience had a lasting positive effect on their lives. Even after they have said that Skyros was the 'holiday of a lifetime', nearly a third come back again and again.

Atsitsa, on the pine-forested western coast of Skyros island, offers a wide range of activities including windsurfing, yoga, art, music and much more. It's an ideal place to try something new and discover hidden talents. Atsitsa's lively holiday holidays - 30 to 80 people at a time - are friendly and bursting with life. Courses, facilitators, fabulous food and the beautiful environment are, naturally, all central to the experience. But for many, the real value and essence of a stay in Atsitsa is to be found in its rich community life and the opportunity to meet an interesting mix of people from all walks of life. Life in Atsitsa is informal and relaxed with a dress code to match. Skyros holidays have been described as 'the first and still the best' alternative holiday by The Guardian. The Sunday Times described it as 'One of the world's best holidays'. "The Life Changes Course at the Skyros Centre offers lots of skills and experiences which you can integrate into your life at home to make changes. The course is, however, only one part of a wonderfully, nourishing, stimulating and fun holiday where there is lots of opportunity to meet new friends, e..."njoy chatting on the beach, swimming in the gorgously warm blue sea and having dinner in one of the many tavernas in the town or near the beach. The island of Skyros is beautiful with narrow streets and interesting architecture. Some of the buildings are on steep slopes as is the museum but when you reach the top the views are stunning.
I loved beginning my day with an excellently taught yoga class on the open terrace over-looking the sea then having breakfast outside at the centre again looking over the sea. It was fun getting to know a wide-range of people chatting over meals and through the courses.
I decided to share a room and this worked out really well as there were two rooms in t...

"Think about holidays? My mind goes to last year's amazing two weeks vacations in the incredible Atsitsa bay! A place of extreme beauty. Peaceful and calme, if you want to be on your own for a while. Very alive and fulfilling with all those very temting courses one can choose from. You went solo? Ne..."ver mind. You will make good friends there. You have a problem? Don't worry, be happy. There are those wonderful, goodhearted, smiling people of the staff to help you. In short, I had really and truly fun. I had a very "a lot" time! I sawm a lot. I laughed a lot. I drunk this magical "sunset" cocktail a lot. I ate a lot. I danced a lot. I had a lot of "deep" conversations with very interesting people. I had to think a lot, hearing other people talk about their experiences in life. I wonder what else one would expect from one's holidays?

"Just go there and commune quietly with Anastasia (the owner). There is too much to describe and too much to 'feel' - so using few words cannot do it justice - JUST GO THERE!!!!"
