The Merchant’s House in Old Perithia offers a glimpse of the island as it was in times gone by. Our four star boutique B&B sympathetically combines elements of both a hotel and a traditional B&B, creating a very original experience. This, the oldest village on the island, used to be a hideaway from pirate attacks, which blighted mountain villages and towns near to the coast. Old Perithia at 408m, nestles below Mount Pantokrator, 906m and the highest mountain on Corfu. We discovered it on one of our trips and loved the spirit of the place, the mood and beauty of the landscape, the undisturbed charm of its houses and churches. The village had a few lovely tavernas but nowhere to stay, and so our story began.During ‘a year in Corfu’, working closely with the archaeological department, we faithfully restored a row of mid 17th century 'Merchant's Houses' in this protected heritage site. From Spring until Autumn, in an area of great natural beauty, we open to guests who would love to discover and experience this unique architectural gem.Stroll through the cobbled paths, admire the characteristic houses with their Venetian origins, explore the surrounding countryside, or enjoy the peace and quiet, rest and relaxation. The glorious beaches of the north east are just 20 minutes drive away.In the evening we welcome you back to the gentle luxury of our boutique B&B where, resting on our terrace beneath unpolluted night skies, you can listen to the sounds of the Ionian night as it settles over the hills.

"There are plenty of rides for young and old, my favourite was the lazy river, you just lie back on a large rubber ring and let the river do the rest."
"Lovely safe beach for young and old alike, no nasty shelf to deal with before you can have a swim. Lovely golden sand, and a nice little crepery across the road for elevenses."
"The village of Kassiopi is set around the harbour, very picturesque, similar to Cornwall. There is a cafe/restaurant situated on the side the harbour called the Wave and you can sit beside the water and while away the day while sipping a cool drink, or trying some wonderful seafood dish. It has a ..."lovely beach tucked away over the hill and an ancient castle you can visit. Well worth going to Kassiopi.
