Hotels are very few and small. The most common accomodations are rooms for rent. We stayed at the "Miramare" studios managed by the the nice and extremely helpful Ms Taxiarchia. I do not remember names of places where we ate. There are restaurants both in the upper part of the village near the church and at the port, but we tried only the latter. There is one restaurant down towards the end of the port, with tables on the water. Very nice location but we were not particularly happy with the food.   "We visited in end may 2012. All was quiet, stayed at the Kalyipso Hotel right on the harbour. Nothing to complain about apart from drunk sailors (mainly english) who were sheltering from the poor weather in the harbour and using the 3 ouserias within 50 metres of the hotel.Lovely little town, probab..."ly worth renting a scooter for 1 day for 10 euros to get a feel of the tiny island with very few beaches. Good food at Kalypso restaurant as well as beer @ 1.50 1\2 litre. stay away from harbour ouzo area if you want a quiet night. the bakers on the square is brilliant " More >

  "I will not write too much abut Lipsi in case it gets too crowded-as I am sure it does in August. We went in July and it was fabulous if you like everything really low key. The beaches aren't brilliant but they are OK. It is so laid-back and relaxed it is wonderful. The little town square up the hil..."l is very peaceful with a nice little cafe that has a stock of English books that you can just ask to take. You can do a five-island boat trip-with two rival companies. There are two hotels, the Calypso at the port and another one over on the back town beach (can't remember the name). We stayed in a villa and I am not divulging the name in case it gets booked if we ever want to return! The main problem with Lipsi is that the electricity tends to get cut off fairly frequently-only for a few hours but still a problem-especially if your water supply works from an electric pump, as ours did.
