The forest is situated in the area "Alyko" on the southwest side of Naxos Island. It is a great and unique forest in Greece, of Junipers(Cedars), which covers almost the entire sandy peninsula of "Kouroupia" cape, with an extent of 1000 acres! The rich flora of Alyko consisting of wild arborescent vegetation which includes the Junipers (Cedars), Arkefthous and Shcino. Τhe sovereignty of course is held by the Junipers which are met in the form of tree and bush reaching 4-5m height sometimes. The entire extent of the forest is covered by white sand and sand dunes. The age of many of the trees is estimated more than 200 years old! The forest is a nature protected area as it is a great shelter of small wild rabbits, birds and other animals.

"The moment we entered the spa ,we felt a strong sense of peace from the atmosphere and beautiful fragrances. So we thought not to waist time and book spa treatments right away. The quality of the service and the products of the couples massage were excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we made sur..."e that we did some more treatments before our departure. This time we chose a Swedish massage and a 1 hour facial. Both were well worth the money. Staff were professional and very capable with their techniques. The spa experience was the highlight of our trip. Amazing spa setting, if you truly need to relax & release stress this is the place! There are not many people who really put their soul into their client’s backs. Overall, I give them a 5/5 for quality of massage, wonderful experience, price and staff professionalism.

"We anchored in this peaceful & picturesque small harbour while a 30 knt S W wind blew outside of the harbour for a couple of days. The summer hadn't begun so tourists were few, however the local shop keepers & tavernas were very accommodating & friendly. What a gorgeous place! We hired quad bikes, S..."wam in the pristine water, ate & shopped & took in the pretty vista of the sandy beach, rocky cliffs with the hand made rock walls & watched the goats frolicking up & down the rocks. Interesting walks takes you to the other side of the island to see caves & an ancient castle.

"I am one of the many regular visitors to Iraklia, having discovered this tiny island, and its welcoming community many years ago. If you are looking for sun beds and swimming pools, then Iraklia is not for you. Iraklia is for those who are looking for peace and tranquillity, for the nature lover, t..."he walker, those who like to spend their evenings in good company over a home cooked Greek meal in a taverna served by lovely people. If you visit this little jewel of an island, you will love Agios Georgos and Livadi, but explore too, the little village of Panagia, with its little gift shop and another good restaurant. Visit the cave, walk the mountain path up Pappas, and the cliff walks above Mericas, the paths crisscrossing the island. Relax and enjoy, search out the unexpected and you will not be disappointed. There are many good places to stay but I particularly love Villa Zografos with its beautiful gardens and stunning views.
