Outdoor Portofino deals with ecotourism and outdoor activities related to the sea. The idea is to give everyone the chance to appreciate the beauty of Portofino Marine Park in the best possible way: paddling, rowing and sailing!AIM:Our goal is to give everyone the chance to discover the secrets of this preserved area. On board of kayaks or small sailing and rowing boats we give the opportunity to reach and see hidden and otherwise inaccessible natural paradises that behold the most colorful and genuine secrets of the ligurian coast sea vegetation. Guided by marine biologists and local experts in off-track excursion, all of our staff assures not only the best company and highest quality of sea sports instruction and guiding, but the chance to come in contact with the most peculiar and traditional aspects of this small and rich natural sanctuary and its costumes. With a bit of ambition and firmly believing in eco-tourism’s power, we want to provide the opportunity for those who visit these beautiful places to do it in the best way possible! We are also involved in carrying on a scientific environmental project.

"Located in a beautiful cove Portofino is truly a gem. We parked the rental car up the hill and walked down the lovely cobble stone via. At the bottom the vista opens to a court lined with colorful shops and restaurants. The bay is just gorgeous and scattered with all sorts of boats and yachts. Depen..."dent on the time of year the lagoon can get pretty busy. The shopkeepers of the places we stepped into were friendly and full of smiles. In particular the lady at the wine and food shop was very nice and spoke pretty good English. We asked about the Andrea Bocelli concert that we had seen on PBS a few weeks prior to the visit. It was obvious why the chose Portofino for that show. Not only is it a spectacular backdrop but the natural acoustics are great. She told us how the town was on somewhat of a lock down to keep it from getting over run. The locals all had passes and were able to see the show from there windows above. She too agreed that the show was spectacular.

"Newly arrived in Italy, our host took us to Rapallo and from there a walk through the little town of Santa Margherita, where we ate an excellent pastry from Panarelo, bought cheese from the market and lettuce and tomatoes to eat with our focaccio and ham later on. We walked along the coast to Paragg..."i,, where we ate the best anchovy insalata ever, with a glass of wine. Well fortified, we set off to Portofino, and along the way stopped for a swim in an amazing bay in the protected marine area. The Portofino Park has well marked walks, great for hikers, and you can choose from many different routes. We stopped at the Faro lighthouse, choosing to return home. A great way to explore this part of the beautiful Ligurian coast.

"The walk up hill to get to the castle is definately not easy (especially in the heat), but the views and the experience is worth every step.Castello Brown is a house museum located high above the harbor. It has been there since the 1500 and used for Harbour defence during those times. The magical vi..."ews, fantastic grounds and the castle has old character within it's walls. We had the pleasure of visiting in May, and it was already very warm - make sure to carry water with you as there is no place to purchase in the castle. I had the experience of rescuing a foreign tourist while we visited (non english speaking), who got locked in one of the washrooms. It appears that certain washroom are open for tour groups only, and her group left without knowing that she was still in there, and they locked the door from the outside. I tried in various languages to calm her down and find someone from the castle who had the master key to let her out. Poor women had been in there for awhile, the walls a...
