Teatro Olimpico SpA nasce da un'azione collettiva volta a salvaguardare un luogo di cultura, il teatro esistente fin dagli anni '30, che il pubblico romano rischiava di perdere.Fino alla fine degli anni '70 la sala alternava musica e cinema, ma quando la societa proprietaria dell'immobile e l'Ente Cinematografico Italiano fallirono il Teatro Olimpico fu messo in vendita. Il Presidente dell'Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Adriana Panni, promosse quindi una grande sottoscrizione, unendo molti cittadini in una Societa per Azioni che lo acquisto nel 1980.Da allora il Teatro e sede stabile dei concerti della Filarmonica, ma anche un teatro a tempo pieno con una sua programmazione ed un suo pubblico affezionato.
