Owner description: La Galerie de la Marine Depuis de nombreuses annees, les pratiques contemporaines a Nice se deploient sous differentes... more » Owner description: La Galerie de la Marine Depuis de nombreuses annees, les pratiques contemporaines a Nice se deploient sous differentes facettes, s'illustrent dans differents lieux publics et prives et se reflechissent par des acteurs multiples. Il manquait cependant a la ville de Nice un espace reserve exclusivement a la diffusion de la jeune creation emergente, identifie comme tel, tant par les artistes que par les publics. Si une des premieres mesures de soutien a la jeune creation formee a Nice a ete de proposer en 2004 des lieux de travail a la Halle Spada, un espace de diffusion et d'exposition s'imposait comme complementaire. C'est ainsi qu'en 2009, l'espace historique de la galerie de la Marine est devenu une plateforme dedie uniquement a la jeune creation contemporaine, par des invitations a des artistes emergeants sur la scene internationale et nationale. Parallelement, le partenariat entre la ville de Nice et la villa Arson pour l'organisation de l'exposition annuelle des diplomes de l'Ecole a connu un nouveau developpement, par l'initiative de la Ville de Nice de decerner un prix a deux laureats de l'exposition. Selectionne par un jury de professionnels, aide par la fondation Bernar Venet, le prix de la jeune creation de la Ville de Nice permet a deux tres jeunes artistes d'obtenir une bourse, une residence et une exposition a la galerie de la Marine, l'annee suivante. Construite entre 1830 et 1835 pour etre un espace reserve aux pecheurs et a la vente du poisson, elle devient en 1967 un lieu d'exposition et prend des 1978 son visage actuel en presentant une selection de la Biennale de Paris qui fut la premiere tentative d'introduction de l'art contemporain dans les musees de Nice. Quelques aspects des grands mouvements qui ont remis en cause la situation artistique des annees 50 y ont ete montres, Support/Surfaces, Pop Art, Fluxus, Art Corporel et Nouveaux realistes. Puis un travail de collaboration avec les artistes qui vivaient dans la region y a ete realise. Plateforme dedie exclusivement a la jeune creation contemporaine depuis 2009, cet espace historique a propose des invitations personnelles ou de groupe a des jeunes artistes tous issus des Ecoles d'Art, ayant un debut de parcours ou un parcours confirme dans les FRAC et les Centres d'Art et dont le travail s'inscrit plutot dans les territoires conceptuels de l'art. La galerie a presente les travaux d'Olivier Millagou, David Ancelin, Eve Pietruschi, Jean Luc Blanc et Michel Blazy, Arnaud Maguet avec Jerome Fino, Samson Guyomard, Karine Meyffret et Myriam Tirler, Loic Pantaly et Yasmina Hatem, Jean Baptiste Engler et Eun Yeoung Lee, Thomas Teurlai et Hugo Schiavi, Axel Pahlavi, Quentin Derouet et Remi Voche. La Galerie de la Marine poursuit sa demarche d'ouverture et de reconnaissance vers la realite multiple de la jeune scene de l'art contemporain, en invitant chaque ete les diplomes de l'Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Art de la Villa Arson a presenter leur travail, dans une exposition en deux volets complementaires qui se tient dans chacun des deux lieux. « less
