We were pleased to see the number of French school children here. We observed them to be very polite and orderly--considerately moving aside so we could read the English descriptions. The guided tour of 5 sites, offered through the museum, is excellent. We did this in the afternoon, after spending a morning in the museum (my second visit to the museum). The sites are Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, the German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer, and the remnants of the artificial harbor at Arromanches. I'd been to the first three sites without a tour guide; I had done a little reading on them in a guidebook, but the guided tour was much, much more informative.
