The Arènes of Nîmes is the best preserved amphitheatre in the Roman world. A contemporary of the Colosseum at Rome, it provides an exceptional example of Roman civilisation. The audio-guided and illustrated tour lets visitors experience the gladiator shows and life in Roman times. The gladiator's quarters presents the weapons and techniques of gladiatorial combat, and the Colours of the Bullfighting space introduces you to this world through the magnificent costumes of toreros.

The Maison Carrée in Nimes is the only Roman ancient temple completely preserved. The inspiration for the design of the Maison Carree came from the temples of Apollo and Mars Ultor in Rome. Inside, a multimedia show immerses visitors into Nimes' heroic past using the the most cutting-edge resources. The visitors become heroes of Nîmes themselves and the Maison Carrée becomes a gateway to the past and history of Nîmes.

The Nimes Vacquerolles golf course is just 8mn from the city center. Located in a gently sloping valley amidst the aromatic and sun-drenched hills of the garrigue, this course will satisfy beginners and most demanding golfers. This all-round course allows each golfer to take pleasure in the game: undulating with impregnable views and a more relaxed last 9 holes: the greens are vast, sometimes elevated, with numerous plateaus.

"Very excited to see this amphitheater especially since we weren't going to be able to go to Rome. Very cool. Not crowded, cheap to get the audio and you can find out everything you could want to know. Definitely recommended."
