"We were recommended this trip by a friend and found it an enjoyable and interesting way to pass a couple of hours. We took the little train all around the salt flats - the only problem was our very limited French meant that we didn't understand most of what was said. I think they usually provide w..."ritten guides in different languages but we dashed on at the last minute so didn't get one.
Even so, we enjoyed seeing the salt flats and the flamingoes, plus lots of other bird life. The little museum had some good photos of how things used to be.
You also get great views back to the city...but take a cardi as it can be breezy on that traiin!

"This old city is completely enclosed within its ancient walls and is a spectacular sight!
Inside, there are restaurants and the usual tourist shops, but it is easy to leave these behind and enjoy a stroll around this lovely town.
We did not have time to walk the ramparts as our train was due; but ..."given the location of the town, the views over the salt pans will be excellent!
There is parking all along one side of the town and on the other is a large overflow parking area.
If you come by train, it is about a ten minute walk to the walled town.
