Hides allow you and your family to get up close and personal with birds such as woodpeckers and kingfishers and during your wander you may also encounter mammals such as roe deer and hedgehogs. The meadows during summer are full of butterflies on the wing in comparison to a snow laden winter where you may be lucky enough to spot our overwintering bitterns – this globally threatened species a real highlight to see for any wildlife watcher. Please note that for Christmas 2013 the reserve will be closed on the 24th,25th,26th and 27th of December. We will be open every other day of the year (weather permitting) please see are website for further details. « less

Tuesday it's Live & Gigging with up and coming bands and sometimes established bands wanting a new platform. Wednesday it's Open Mic, and the first Wednesday of the month it's Comedy night hosted by Sully O'Sullivan. Thursday it's Quiz Night. Every Friday and Saturday it's big band night with musicians performing from all over the country. Sunday it's Music Quiz night and Monday it's a night for assorted meetings and band rehearsals. We pride ourselves on the high calibre of music played here and are constantly on the lookout for new bands to add to our every increasing list of musicians who play here. You can often find musicians on the large sunny smoking terrace having a jam or rehearsing in the Cocktail Bar. We have 10 real ales, 2 real ciders, over 50 bottled beers from around the world, a guest foreign beer which changes every week and several lagers and other ciders. We don't sell the same products as the other bars either (there's not an alcopop in sight). Everybody is guaranteed a warm welcome, customers can also bring their own food in as long as they buy a drink. Also we care about our customers and there is a really friendly happy atmosphere the minute you walk through the door. Regular updates and conversations via social media and our website keeps the customer included in everything. Getting to know the customers is imperative to the Cask Corner team. « less
