The Museum of The Black Watch is laid our chronologically through ten rooms within the Castle. These display an amazing variety of artifacts illustrating the history of the Regiment as well as a fine collection of paintings and photography. Supplemented by a number of audiovisual installations the overall experience is highly evocative and brings to life the experience of serving in the Black Watch from Fontenoy to Fallujah and beyond.

The Picts in stone - Meigle Museum has an impressive collection of Pictish carved sculpture, including cross slabs, recumbent gravestones, a hogback stone and rare architectural fragments. These demonstrate both the artistic vigour of Pictish society and the skill of its stonecarvers. The former schoolhouse housing the collection backs onto the graveyard where most of the stones were found. The present church at Meigle dates to around 1870, but there has probably been a church on this site for over a thousand years.Open daily from 9.30am to last entry at 5.00pm from 1st April to 30th September
