NEVIS RANGE Mountain Experience is in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland, 7 miles north of Fort William. The mountain gondola will transport you to 650m on Aonach Mor where you'll find the Snowgoose restaurant & bar with awesome views, mountain trails, kids play area, and the Mountain discovery Centre (summer only). In the winter, we're open for sledging, skiing and boarding. There's biking for all in Leanachan forest, plus bike wash, bike hire and a skills park. The NEVIS downhill track (with gondola uplift) hosts the Mountian Bike World Cup each year and there's the new red Route opening in summer 2009. We hope you love it as much as we do!

We are a museum set in Cameron Aqure which is just off of the centre of Fort William High Street. We have eight rooms packed with fascinating objects, from treasure from a shipwrecked Spanish Armada galleon to the bagpipes played at Bannockburn in 1314. Whether its archaeology, natural history, warfare and weaponry, highland crofting life, costumes and charms, victorian times, silver, coins and medals, or even the history of mountain rescue, it can all be found at the West Highland Museum.

"the kids loved the place as soon as we pulled up in the car park, mining carts on tracks leading to the museum gave it a feel of the wild west. inside they were equally impressed, the giant dinosaur in a prehistoric setting let their imaginations run riot. I loved the exhibits, I have never seen suc..."h a lovely collection of gem stones, some so large that it is hard to understand how they have formed. that's where the staff came in, although you are allowed complete freedom to wonder about without being directed, the staff are on hand to explain about their collection and their enthusiasm and knowledge made the trip all the more enjoyable. the gift shop is excellent, it stocked a wide selection of goods for all ages, all tastes and for all purses. we spent about half an hour in there alone.

"We had a good time and found it quite interesting reading up on all that they had to offer, but made it round in half an hour and found the entry a little over priced for what we saw. Gift shop was fantastic and we came home with lots of gorgeous goodies (:"
"We were lucky with the weather and saw it at its best and as it was a weekend in late September, definitely a bonus! We traveled by train from Glasgow which is a beautiful journey, as you see a lot more than by road and it is a lot less tiring. We stayed at The Morar Hotel, the views from the Dini..."ng Room are breathtaking, especially at sunset; the islands of Rhum and Eigg outlined against a sky with a vast spectrum of colours. On the Sunday we walked across the beautiful white beach and got caught in a sudden downpour - but it was warm rain and we laughed - I have never felt so alive! - truly a Magical weekend!
