  "Today we visited Dover Castle and the War tunnels and had a fantastic time. You certainly need a full day of it as we got there at midday and was still wandering about at half 5, quarter to 6 when it was shortly too close. We started the day at the castle itself wandering around the keep, the ..."museums etc. There is so much to see and it's just so vast. The grounds are well kept and nice to explore. From the top of the keep you get some good views, but can be windy up there, and one of the "entrance" stickers blew away, which concerned me, but I had kept the receipts from entrance close to hand, just incase. The cafe near the castle did lovely chocolate cake which was nice and fresh. The tunnels are not to be missed, we did the hospital tour to begin with, this took around half an hour or so. That was interesting, apparently it had been toned down as used to have fake blood (which I do remember from my childhood), but people kept over reacting to the fake blood, so... " More >
