"Enjoyed the drive out and the clean set up that is there.
Miss leading if you think your going to see a Roman Fort.
Location and good exhibits but no fort.
Be ware there is no Fort.
Long drive but loads of different places to stop along the way."
"During this review I'm not only going to rave on about the breathtaking scenary and the incredible sense of satisfaction about getting to the top, but I'm also going to include some useful advice on tackling it. So if you are a seasoned hiker with a good level of technical skill and a decent level o..."f fitness / all the gear and every idea you can probably skip this. "We went for a half day valley/low fell ride in a mixed group of reasonably novice riders and had the MOST fabulous time. The staff are knowledgeable, want to look after you, maximise your experience, and really know their horses and their stuff. We were all matched to our horses on arrival after the..."y checked our experience, where we had ridden, what we could do confidently and then we mounted the most beautiful group of heavy horses. I rode Jake who was a complete sweetheart. We did a quick ride in a field so that the staff riders could check what we had said was right about our experience, and then we were off. We got plenty of opportunity to do rising trot and canter (for those who could), then we went up a lower fell and the more inexperienced go to to understand how to ride uphill and downhill. We will definitely be back, it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. Thank you Kelly and Peter.
