What travelers are saying
- wondereyesBucharest, Romania2,472 contributionsIt was a stop on our organized tour. Except the fact the parking place is a bit far and you have to walk for the village center, is was a beautiful walk. We took the way to the edge of the cliffs to see the angry sea and came back for the center of the village. Nice small houses, friendly people, small shops and restaurants. Don’t regret we stopped.
Be careful with the weather how you dress and at your shoes.
Loved to see from where Fisherman Friends started (nice music).Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kay EChicago, IL53 contributionsMy 3rd visit, but never disappointed by the Katies, art work! I bought a lamp shade with the drawing of PT Isaac plat on it on the last visit I enjoy it so much. I didn't get to see Katie, but the man in there showed me how to adjust the shade inside when I got home. much appreciated! Beautiful gift selections in shades, aprons and cards too.Written June 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard TBurnley, UK1,237 contributionsWe drove past this several times before stopping to have a look. We expected it to be locked, so we were pleasantly surprised to find it open, although you do need to give the door a good push. A very old building, a lot of history (detailed on a visitor’s card) and well worth a few minutes to call in.Written April 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ShaunH290London, UK2,331 contributionsThis unpresupposing granite-hewn War Memorial was moved from its original location to the roadside on Trewetha Lane, so we saw it as we walked into the town from the car park. It was listed at Grade II in 2019 for historic and architectural interest, as a simple well-executed Celtic cross. But the names on the bronze plaque tell the story so eloquently. Of the 30 who died in the First World War from the surrounding area, 20 families were impacted, with the Mitchells and Remicks losing three men each, and five others losing two. Of the 23 who died in the Second World War, some families suffer again and two more Remicks died, including Dorothy, the only woman mentioned.

- Annabel C2 contributionsI cannot recommend these guys enough. We had an amazing kayak tour with them today, showing us the coast line and having a great laugh along the way. We had Archie leading us today and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He really had a passion for Cornwall and the coast which was lovely. We played games, and just had a great laugh. They are such lovely people who run this company! This is the 2nd time we have used them and I would 100% go back a third time!! Dont forget to book the sauna for afterwards because its just as amazing!! Saunas by the sea!Written October 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- careysandra14Warrnambool, Australia2 contributionsVisited Port Isaac to experience what the Doc Martin series and The Fishermen’s Friends Films, story and sea shanty music portrayed. I was not disappointed. I did this your twice as the value and information gave such a great inside into the village and the tv/movie locations. The guides were wonderful. Both locals and it’s obvious they love their village. Mike Meakins gave a theatrical insight into Doc Martin - having been an actor in most of the series. John Brown - a Fishermen’s Friend - shared great stories as he guided us around. Both friendly and open to questions. A relaxed way to be introduced to Port Isaac and its history. Highly recommend and great value.Written October 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
