Long Foundation Education Center") is located inside the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building. Science exhibits include a 3-D theater, research vessel, virtual laboratory, "Shaping Watersheds" Interactive Sandbox, and more. Exhibit themes include why Lake Tahoe is unique and how science and research have been used and continue to be used to restore and protect Lake Tahoe for future generations. The Education Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 - 5 p.m. year-round; and also on summer Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (from Memorial Day through Labor Day). We are closed on observed holidays. Tours begin hourly on the hour (1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.). Walk-in visitors are welcome or call to schedule a tour. We recommend that large groups make a reservation. Green building tours are by appointment. « less
