Witness the birth of the Appalachian Mountains and cross the lava fields. Feel the continents shift and the glaciers retreat as the earth trembles and the temperature soars, then plunges... You'll never see the Eastern Townships quite the same way again! Be sure to stop by the permanent exhibition "The Cycle of the Seasons," which showcases the finest plant and animal specimens in southern Québec! Consult the program for temporary exhibitions and events. « less

Built in 1862 by John Paddon, Uplands, a Georgian-style house, is set in a park surrounded by gardens. Tea in the English tradition is served on the veranda, in the garden or indoors according to the season. The menu includes tea, scones, pastries, cucumber sandwiches, jam, Devonshire style cream and more, garnished with fresh mint and flowers from our gardens. Delicious! In addition to historical and contemporary art exhibits, Uplands offers a diverse range of activities and services: Concerts, Workshops for both children and adults, Sales of works by local artists as well as craft shows, Gift Shop and gift certificates, Gardens and picnic area, Group activities and prices, and Rentals for special occasion. « less
