Kensington Market is just to the west of Chinatown and is the bohemian heart of Canada, based in a multicultural history it is now a flurry of independent stores, restaurants, bars and shops that bring the world's foods to one tightly knit community. You can find any food on the planet in Kensington Market. It is not an uncommon thing to find a festival in Kensington Market making the bohemian party atmosphere complete. Tip for Kensington, take the transit. Streets are packed and traffic is insane, parking is non-existent.

New York has Macy's, London has Harrods, Chicago has Marshall Fields, and Toronto has Honest Ed's. "It is quite an attraction - honest," proclaims The Great Toronto Getaway, Buffalo, USA. Built in 1948, Honest Ed's is a landmark store in the heart of Toronto. The sign is lit up using 23,000 light bulbs and the store, although modest, consists of two buildings connected by a sidewalk along Bathurst Street.

Versailles this ain't. Still, that hasn't deterred the crème de la crème of the alternative music scene. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Tragically Hip, and Alanis have performed here. Despite the graffiti grunge, Lee's does boast the best sight lines in town. The audience is young and rarely tires of slam dancing in the mosh pit in front of the stage.

A former brick making factory, Evergreen Brick Works is now Canada’s first large-scale community environmental centre that inspired and equips visitors to live, work and play more sustainably. Named by National Geographic as one of the world’s top 10 geotourism destinations in 2010, it features a local farmers’ market and retail garden market; an international showcase for green design and urban innovation; and a “hands-in-the-dirt” learning space for youth and adults alike.
