Sainte-Anne Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Sainte-Anne
"Guadeloupe was one stop on our cruise with Royal Carribean. We had a group of 10 and 8 of us ended up taking the excursion with the ship $28 for transportation to St. Anne and back. My only complaint is that the excursion wasn't long enough. The drop off was in a shopping area with a short walk t..."o the beach, but we only had a couple hours to spend. We could have stayed all day lounging on the beach. 2 of the people in our group took a public bus for a couple of bucks each and found their way to St. Anne's beach where we were. We booked through the ship because none of us spoke French and didn't want to deal with trying to negotiate directions or a cab. Next time we would opt in for the public bus. Be sure to bring Euros or small bills in US$ - brushing up on French phrases would be a good idea as well. "This place is simply amazing. The clear water, white sand, great location and good facilities surrounded. Saint Anne turned out my favorite spot in Guadeloupe. You can swimming all day long and rest in one of the palm trees around the beach. The most amazing thing is if you are alone you can leave y..."our belongs in the sand and everybody respect it.

The good aspects: a BEAUTIFUL, palm tree-spotted beach with soft sand; warm, colorful Caribbean water that has only ripples like a lake; no crowds; locals and tourists co-existing with the same-site Club Med resort. I understand there's nearby shopping for those who can't land on an island without feeling a need to shop.
A few tips: I never recommend taking cruise excursions, but if th...
